Old Pier Pilings by Dan McKeon
Provincetown's town beach includes remnants of old piers, adding an architectural and historic touch to the view.
Dan McKeon is originally from Troy, NY where he took his first photographs with his Polaroid Swinger instant camera, a gift he had received from his parents for his 12th birthday. Dan spent much of his childhood memorializing family events on film. He moved to Provincetown in 2009, following retirement from his 33-year career with the NY State Office of Mental Health.
Since 2011, he has become well known as the official photographer for the Provincetown Business Guild and Provincetown Magazine. He has also done production photography for films, major brands, network television, and nearly every Provincetown institution including The Tennessee Williams Festival, Boatslip Beach Club, Crown & Anchor, Pilgrim Monument & Provincetown Museum, Lesbiannightife.com, Provincetown for Women, Provincetown International Film Festival, Provincetown Bears, The Generations Project and Fantasia Fair.
Dan regularly donates his time and services to local charities, including Helping Our Women (H.O.W.), and The AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod (ASGCC). Dan is also regularly hired for wedding photography, real estate photography and family photography to help visitors capture the unique experience of being in Provincetown.
