Cape Dorset Dancing Bear
Hand carved by master artists of the First Nation Inuit community of Cape Dorset, Nunavut, in the Northwest Passages of the arctic region of Canada, this polar bear is made of serpentinite or soapstone.
The sculpture can either stand on one leg or lay on it's belly, which ever you prefer.
Each piece is completely one of a kind and comes with a certificate of authenticity including artist information and background booklet on Cape Dorset artistry. All First Nation work at Arcadia is purchased either directly or from artist co-operatives to insure that the artists profit directly.
Measures 4" tall, 3" at the widest point by 2" thick.
Made by Markusie Papigatuk of Cape Dorset, Canada
