Maori Touchstone Pendant
Sorry, currently out of stock
Carved into a simple basalt river stone gathered from Birdling Flats, near Lake Ellesmere in New Zealand, this pendant is hand carved with a traditional Maori symbol by Maori master artists. The Maori believe that stones, called Kohatu Pa, contain life essence inanimate. Such energy can then be shaped and channeled by carving specific patterns into the stone, so it is said that every stone and every pattern is meant to be together, energy matched with pattern.

Each necklace comes in a gift box with a card that explains the story of the piece and the meaning of the carving.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this necklace goes to fund the protection of Te Roto O Wairewa [Lake Forsyth] in partnership with the Wairewa Runanga – the Kaitiaki [Guardians] of the Lake.
Pendant measures 1.25" long by 1" wide at the widest point by 1/4" thick.
