Steel and Sterling Silver Triple Slice Pendant Necklace

Metallurgy verging on alchemy. 

Three textured and angled slices of darkened steel oval piping are linked together with brushed sterling silver hoops, creating a fascinating contrast of metals, shapes, and textures. 

The maker is a trained metalsmith who has studied blacksmithing. This classic metalworking technique combining steel with sterling silver is rarely encountered in jewelry making. While the sterling silver frame and chain will remain the same, the steel will oxidize and subtly change colors with time, wear, exposure to water and salt, allowing you to enjoy the magic of metallurgy over time. 

Pendant measures 2" in length by 1/2" wide, suspended from an 18" partially oxidized, polished sterling silver chain.
